Give me some good ones. I already know about Makers, Knob, Woodford etc.

Elmer T. Lee is always a good one when I can find it, as is Buffalo Trace. I'm pretty sure that Buffalo Trace makes Elmer T. Lee.

If you haven't had a drink of bookers in a while I suggest it. 120-127 proof on the rocks is damn good.

I don't get into Blanton's like most. It's a good bourbon, however its not the best I have ever had.

I usually buy a fifth of either makers or woodford every other week. Instead of drinking everything I buy, I want to start buying some good kinds and getting a collection going to alternate between.

I keep these in my home rotation, along with Blanton's and Booker's.

    WL Weller
    Eagle Rare
    Michters
    Pappy Van Winkle
    George T Stagg

I drink Maker's or Woodford in the bar.

Try 1792. It's cheap in comparison ($25 a fifth) but I think it's great bourbon for the price. I keep Blanton's, Knob Creek, and either Woodford or 1792 stocked but I need to try some Booker. Have yall tried Makers 46? I don't know if it's much better than original Makers

I've had a few bottles of 1792. Its not a bad bottle.

I've had a few bottles of the 46. I remember it being a little different, but I can't remember exactly what it was that was different.

Old Forrester for cheap, not dirty, shots. Basil Hayden for mixing and occasional Captain Confederacy nights (tonight). Pappy 20 for the office or the hatfield bar. 23 is a bit to oak-shitty for me. I like my bourbon crisp. Nobody's said Bulleit, Jefferson's, Russell's, or Bakers which are all good, depends on your nose for bourbon.

Rip Van Winkle is always a great choice, but it depends on which Van Winkle you want. They start at about $60-ish and go up into the hundreds with a 23 yr aged bourbon.

Benjamin Prichard's Double Barrel Bourbon is always a good choice and so is Four Roses.

the weller is a good choice, and if you want to venture into rye, builleit makes a good one.

While its not bourbon, George Dickel is the obvious choice.

Bulleit is probably my all-around favorite in terms of price/taste.

A family friend got me to try his Black Maple Hill 23. Best I've ever had. I'm going to pick up some of their cheaper stuff next trip I make to the liquor store. Had 1792 for the first time this weekend.

We have some now and I'm the same way. Not worth it in my opinion. I'm going to try some Four Roses when I finish the Makers 46...I've heard good things

Makers 46 has too much caramel overtones in it. A bit syrupy in comparison.

Whats the difference between the no. 8 and the no. 12? I haven't actually taste tested the two.

No. 12 is a lot better. No. 8 is just an average whisky at 80 proof, good for mixing, where as No. 12 tastes great as is at 90 proof and has a smoother finish than Jack. 12 is by far my go to whisky.

Edit: you may also find the "cascade hollow" in some liquor stores and while I will drink it simply because it's dickel it compares to Evan black. Bottom/Mid tier, but its also cheap as piss.

I've tried many different bourbons and can now firmly say that Knob Creek is my favorite. I know it sounds weird, but I got this bacon infused bourbon at a bar in Birmingham and it was awesome

Good choice, Knob is my all-around favorite as well. Is that just bourbon with bacon in it or is there more to it? It was mentioned earlier, but Eagle Rare is really underrated, in my opinion. Obviously any of the Van Winkles are worth checking out. Of course, a fine bottle of Ancient Age always hits the spot.

you can infuse bourbon with bacon. basically you cook a few pieces of bacon, stick them in a mason jar full of bourbon i the fridge for a few days, remove bacon and freeze bourbon to solidify the bacon fat then run it through a coffee filter and voila! bacon bourbon! but i'd advise googling it for more exact amounts/days/storage/etc.

Yeah, tgifratday is right, it was their own bacon infused bourbon. It really was incredible... The smokiness of the bacon really goes well with bourbon.

Blanton's is good bourbon but I agree that it's not the best for the price. I think half the allure is the bottle. I just think it's a bit pricey for what it is. Bookers or Blantons do make a great gift of just a good one to have in the collection.

Makers and Knob you just really can't go wrong with for the price. They're so smooth and have never done me wrong.

On a final note tried some Evan Williams 1783 when it was on sale, just not on par with the other small batches in the price range.
